I didnt know it was there

treasure trove

Elevate from 16 Greece to 62 Modern Art and what do you find? A veritable garden of delights. Three smoothly sensuous shapes by Hepworth. Three exquisite miniatures by Henry Moore. Blue roofs by Picasso. A très typique gem by Braque. A Kandinsky and a Vlaminck. Two contrasting perspectives from Piper. Two very different essays by Hodgkin. A couple of expositions from Stanley Spencer. A little white Arp. And ravishing drawings in the drawers under the cabinets. Where do we begin on this extravaganza? GoTo Oxford – and visit the Ashmolean. Worth the journey just for this display alone.
